Terms of Service

Last updated 24 September 2026

The short version

1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and CORE MDM ("we", "us") for your use of the CORE MDM app, web installer and web console (together, "the Service"). By creating an account, installing CORE MDM or using the console, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for an organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm you're authorised to do so.

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.

2. The Service

CORE MDM lets you install a device-management app on Android phones, set it as device owner, and then apply rules and send commands to those phones from a web console. Features may change as we improve the Service.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate information and keep your email address up to date. It's how you recover your account.
  • Keep your password private and use one you don't use anywhere else. You're responsible for everything done through your account.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

4. Devices you may manage

You may only install CORE MDM on, and manage, a phone that:

  • you own; or
  • you are legally allowed to manage, for example as an employer managing company phones, a school managing its own devices, or a parent or guardian managing their child's phone.

You are responsible for telling the people who use a managed phone that it is managed, and for getting any consent the law requires in your country. You must never use CORE MDM to secretly monitor, track or control another adult, or any phone without the permission of its owner.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the Service to harass, stalk, threaten or harm anyone, or to break any law;
  • try to access devices, accounts or data that aren't yours;
  • interfere with, overload or try to break the security of the Service;
  • copy, resell or offer the Service to others as your own, except as allowed by the open-source licences of its components;
  • use the Service to lock, hold or wipe a phone to pressure or punish someone.

We may suspend accounts or remove devices that break these rules.

6. Important risks: please read

CORE MDM uses Android's device-owner controls. They are powerful by design, and they are hard to reverse.

  • Setup: becoming device owner usually requires a factory-reset phone, or removing every account from it. Back up anything you need first.
  • Lock-out: rules such as blocking factory reset, safe mode, USB debugging or uninstalling can leave you unable to change or remove CORE MDM without your account. If you lose access to your account, we may not be able to help you regain control of the phone.
  • Wipe is permanent: the wipe command erases everything on the phone. It cannot be undone, and we cannot recover the data.
  • Commands and phone behaviour: alarms, locks, reboots and restrictions affect the person using the phone. Consider their safety. For example, blocking calls may stop them phoning for help, although emergency calls are normally still allowed by Android.
  • Different brands behave differently: some manufacturers, including Samsung, add their own protections. Changing apps or settings can cause them to re-enable apps, activate Factory Reset Protection or, in rare cases, stop the phone starting up normally.
  • Content filter: no filter blocks everything. Some content may get through, and some legitimate content may be blocked.

Try new rules on one phone before using them on many. You use these features at your own risk.

7. Fees

CORE MDM is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you the price before you're charged, and you won't pay for anything you didn't agree to.

8. Our software

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the CORE MDM app and console to manage your devices under these terms. The CORE MDM name and logo belong to us. Parts of the software are open source and are covered by their own licences. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.

9. Availability

We work to keep the Service running, but we can't promise it will always be available, fast or error-free. It depends on the internet, on third-party services such as Google Firebase, and on the phone being online. Commands sent while a phone is offline are applied when it reconnects. We may change, pause or stop features. If we stop the Service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service at any time: remove your devices from management, uninstall CORE MDM (or factory reset the phones), and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users or the Service. Sections 6 and 11 to 14 continue to apply after your use ends.

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. We do not promise the Service will meet your needs or will block all unwanted content or activity.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, devices, profits or business, arising from your use of the Service. This includes data erased by a wipe and phones that can no longer be changed or reset. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of phones you managed, how you used the Service, or your breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws that apply where CORE MDM operates. If you're a consumer, you keep any protections the laws of your own country give you.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll update the date above and tell account holders before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, stop using the Service.
